In addition to the types of outcomes you might use, be sure to consider the how your studies will measure those outcomes. Your measures will likely be either cateorical or continuous:
Categorical Measures
Categorical measures are results that can fit into clear categories. These include a patient’s level/stage of treatment and answers to yes or no questions.
Continuous Measures
Continuous measures use a numerical scale, such as changes to a patient’s weight, or his or her score on a tool measuring depression.
