Here’s another example of where academic articles and systematic review reports often fall short. Basic math mistakes are more common than you might think.
When researchers examined a sample of 32 manuscripts submitted for editing at the Cleveland Clinic, they found that 21 (or nearly 66% of the articles) had errors in addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division. In other words, mistakes you could find with a simple calculator.
Remember to double and triple check your work! These simple math errors can undermine your credibility as a researcher.
