How N-of-1 studies are different

In an N-of-1 trial, there’s only one research participant.  And the only answer that matters is how a treatment or a range of treatments affect that one specific person.

For example, if you are struggling with lower back pain, an N-of-1 trial would let you try each treatment, collect information on the effects of each one and then see which treatment improved your pain the most.

It’s like having an entire research team keeping track of your health.
